German Language Levels: What is Actually Needed?
The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) defines standards from A1 to C2. For professional recruitment to Germany, three levels are highly relevant: A2, B1, and B2.

### CEFR Levels Breakdown:
- **Level A2 (Basic Communication)**: Mostly used for basic assistant roles or candidates who will continue intensive language classes in Germany before starting full employment.
- **Level B1 (Intermediate)**: The baseline legal requirement for technical specialists (e.g. welders, electricians, mechanics) and apprentices in industrial fields under standard visa regulations.
- **Level B2 (Vantage/Upper-Intermediate)**: Mandatory for healthcare professionals (nurses, physical therapists) to obtain their professional practice license (Berufserlaubnis). It is also highly recommended for commercial customer-facing roles.

Futurpfad manages dedicated prep cohorts in source countries, verifying progress through regular simulated testing to ensure candidates don't just pass tests, but can converse at work from day one.
